an image-maker with a passion to create images that inspire and motivate others to become all they can be!
(she’s the one in the hat)
this is joan’s site that fulfills a dream she’s had for many years–creating and sharing images of universal appeal with messages of inspiration.
a commissioned photographic artist for many years, she owns the Image Maker, which opened in 1985 as a full-service photography studio. today, joan’s image making is more specialized– from harnessing the power of the visual image in building self-esteem in girls and women, to showing entrepreneurs (and others) how to use images more effectively in business and in fulfilling goals and dreams.
joan has earned the PPA Certified designation from the Professional Photographers of America. She accomplished this after meeting rigorous requirements measuring her artistic, technical, ethical, and business competence. The PPA Certified designation is held by fewer than 2,500 photographers worldwide. she also holds an MBA and is completing an MA in Public Administration.

in addition to receiving numerous photography awards, she has also received recognition for her community service.
